INTRODUCTION

Akunst Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of the group exhibition of Ju Hyeon Lee, Woo J, and Wooin Park, The Boundary of Time and Space: Where Reality Meets Surreality on view at the Akunst Gallery Seoul from the 13th of July to 11th of August. This exhibtion invites veiwers to experience the crossing of boundaries between reality and surrealism through the unique perspective of each artist. We hope you look forward encountering new dimensions that are not felt in everyday life while appreciating these works.

현재 에이쿤스트 갤러리에서는 김우중, 이주현, 박우인의 3인 단체전 The Boundary of Time and Space: Where Reality Meets Surreality을 오는 2024년 7월 13일부터 8월 11일까지 개최합니다. 이번 전시는 관객들에게 각 작가의 독특한 시각을 통해 현실과 초현실의 경계를 넘나드는 경험을 선사합니다. 작품들을 감상하며 일상 속에서 느끼지 못했던 새로운 차원과의 만남을 기대해 보시길 바랍니다.

ABOUT THIS EXHIBITION

Currently, Akunst Gallery is presenting an exhibition titled “Boundaries of Time and Space: The Encounter of Reality and Surrealism,” featuring three emerging artists; Woo J, Wooin Park and Ju Hyeon Lee. This exhibition showcases their distinct differences, yet conveys a consistent theme in the visual messages presented to the audience.

Woo J (b. 1993) provides viewers with a new and brilliant visual experience through his surrealistic drawing style. His works blur the boundaries between reality and dreams, capturing surreal moments hidden within our daily lives.

Wooin Park (b. 2000) visualizes emotions and memories through color and form. His works evoke intense emotional responses from the audience, leading them to explore their inner worlds. In particular, he uses abstract expressions to convey the various emotions experienced in reality in a surreal manner.

Ju Hyeon Lee (b. 1997) creates paintings centred on the themes of the ocean and furniture. Her works achieve a unique and special visual harmony by combining the endless change and tranquillity of the ocean with the fixed forms and functionality of furniture. The interplay of the sea and furniture in a single canvas explores the boundaries of reality and surrealism, offering a new visual experience within everyday life.

현재 에이쿤스트 갤러리에서는 <시공의 경계: 현실과 초현실의 만남>이라는 제목으로 3인의 신진 작가; 김우중, 박우인, 이주현의 전시가 진행 중입니다. 이번 전시에서는 각자의 다름을 충실히 보여주지만, 관객들에게 전달하려는 시각적 메시지에서 일관된 주제를 느낄 수 있습니다.

김우중 작가는 초현실적인 드로잉 방식으로 관객들에게 새로운 시각적 경험을 제공합니다. 그의 작품들은 현실과 꿈의 경계를 흐릿하게 만들며, 우리의 일상 속에서 숨겨진 초현실적인 순간들을 포착합니다.

박우인 작가는 색채와 형태를 통해 감정과 기억을 시각화합니다. 그의 작품들은 관객들에게 강렬한 감정적 반응을 유도하며, 개인의 내면 세계를 탐험하게 합니다. 특히, 추상적인 표현을 통해 현실 속에서 느끼는 다양한 감정들을 초현실적으로 표현합니다.

이주현 작가는 바다와 가구를 주제로 그림을 그립니다. 그의 작품들은 바다의 끝없는 변화와 고요함, 그리고 가구의 고정된 형태와 기능성을 결합하여 독특한 시각적 조화를 이루어냅니다. 바다와 가구가 한 화면에 어우러져 현실과 초현실의 경계를 탐구하며, 일상 속에서 새로운 시각적 경험을 선사합니다.
