INTRODUCTION

Akunst Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Wooin Park (b. 2000)’s solo exhibition, Red: 2023 on view at the signature suite of AG from the 30th of November to 28th of December. In this exhibition, the viewers can appreciate a narrative of Park’s paintings that depict his own experience and life from the canvas.

Akunst Gallery에서는 박우인 (b. 2000)의 개인전 Red: 2023을 AG의 Signature Suite에서 오는 2023년 11월 30일부터 12월 30일까지 개최합니다. 이번 전시는 작가의 지극히 개인적인 경험과 이야기를 바탕으로 캔버스 위에 붉은 선으로 풀어내며 관람객들에게 한 편의 시를 읽는 느낌을 선사합니다.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Appreciation of artwork is affected by personality, and there are many ways to interpret it from different points of view. However, it is obvious that Wooin Park’s artworks lead the viewer’s eyes, and his creations are indeed extraordinary. Park is a powerful and enchanting young artist. In his artwork, rough brush strokes around the background and the medium of the painting are extremely concentrated. Wooin Park’s artworks have a gripping narrative, attracting people’s nostalgic memories. In 'Home Town' (2022), beautiful mountains stretch endlessly, and the tree is covered with cherry blossoms. Additionally, viewers can see the traditional Korean wall. Park narrates his own story to the viewers very gently and magnanimously at the same time. From this context, viewers can read the painting, not only gaze at it.

미술 작품은 개개인의 개성과 많은 다양한 관점으로 여러 방향으로 해석될 수 있습니다. 하지만, 박우인 작가의 작품은 관람객들의 이목을 이끄는 것은 분명하고 대단히 매력적인 작품임은 분명합니다. 작가는 매혹적이고 파워풀한 작품을 그리는 젊은 예술가로서 관람객들에게 다가갑니다. 작가는 작품의 배경에 거친 붓질로 굉장히 날렵하고 매서운 표면을 표현했으며, 물감의 질감은 농축되어 있는 느낌입니다. 박우인 작가의 작품에는 그의 이야기를 담고 있으며 이러한 특징들은 관람객들의 향수 어린 기억을 불러일으킵니다. 고향 (2022)에서는 아름다운 산들이 끝없이 펼쳐져 있으며 벚꽃이 만개해 있습니다. 또한, 이 작품에서는 기와 담벼락이 그려져있는데 매우 한국적인 정취와 작가의 고향인 해남에서의 이야기를 엿볼 수 있습니다. 이렇게 작가는 작품으로 자신의 이야기를 관람객들에게 들려주고 있으며 관람객들은 박우인 작가의 작품을 보는 것에 그치지 않고 그림에서 이야기를 읽을 수 있습니다.
