INTRODUCTION

Akunst Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of Juhyeon Lee (b. 1997)’s solo exhibition, Over the Horizon on view at the signature suite of AG from the 13th of October to 11th of November. In this exhibition, the viewers can appreciate a collection of Juhyeon’s paintings that depict people’s journeys and tranquil monasteires on canvas.

Akunst Gallery에서는 이주현 (b. 1997)의 개인전 Over the Horizon을 AG의 Signature Suite에서 오는 2023년 10월 13일부터 11월 11일까지 개최합니다. 이번 전시는 관객들이 이주현 작가의 작품을 통해 편안함과 마음 따뜻함을 느낄 수 있으며 아름다운 바다의 풍경을 캔버스 위에 그리는데 사람들은 그들만의 여행을 작품을 통해 시작합니다.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ju Hyeon Lee (b. 1997) was born in Changwon and is an artist based in Seoul, South Korea. In her works, the artist uses warm and cool color palettes simultaneously to depict water, nature, and sanctuaries. From this context, her artwork has a soothing effect on those who appreciate it. Furthermore, Ju Hyeon Lee often paints beautiful seaside landscapes on canvas, allowing people to embark on their own journeys through her art. Her paintings are not just objects on paper or canvas but also serve on paper. It serve as tickets to a never-ending voyage. In this way, Ju Hyeon Lee constantly strives to convey that her artwork can serve as a new medium for people’s sanctuaries, continually challenging herself to depict people’s journeys and tranquil monasteires on canvas.
