Ju Hyeon’s Over the Horizon

Ju Hyeon Lee (b. 1997) is Seoul based artist and born in Changwon, South Korea. In her works, she repeatedly uses warm and cool color palettes to depict waterscapes, nature scenery, and sanctuaries. From this context, the beautiful landscapes she paints on canvas leads viewers to embark on a journey on the heart. For Ju Hyeon Lee, she protruding shapes and forms are blended seamlessly, dragging the viewer to appreciate the canvas to determine whether it is an waterscapes painting or architectural painting. This adds a joyful, and peaceful to her work that speaks to Ju Hyeon’s message that her artworks are ticket to the never-ending journey.
